More about Scarlet …
I am a Somatic Practitioner, Spiritual Guide, Artist and Educator living and working on Tsalaguwetiyi (Eastern Cherokee), S’atsoyaha (Yuchi) and Miccosukee land; so called Asheville, NC.
I have been working in fields of emotional and mental care since 2005 with a commitment to liberation, justice, anti-oppression, and relational ethics.
I’ve studied with many institutions and individuals over the past eighteen dedicated years of healing and liberatory practice. Most recently I trained with Francis Weller with a focus on ritualizing grief in a collapsing world. I hold a certificate in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy from The Embody Lab, trained as a coach with Leadership that Works, and have studied Internal Family Systems (IFS), Hakomi, and Generative Somatics. I have worked with adults, youth, elders with dementia, and individuals recovering from substance abuse.
I love my work as a somatic practitioner and feel passionately about embodied liberation for all. I work with everyone AND I have special interest and capacity to work with people whose identities sit at the margins of our normative and oppressive cultural system. These include, but are not limited to, folks who identify with the following: LGBTQIA+, POC, Chronically ill, Fat, non-monogomous, Sex workers, Care providers, Activists, Addicts, Alcoholics and those impacted by other people’s addiction.
I completed a Masters in visual + critical studies and a Masters in Fine Art in 2017.
Some of my notable projects are: The Wailing Institute, Pre Apocalypse Counseling and Parting Practice: Rituals for Endings and Failure. I am also the author of When You Die You Will Not Be Scared to Die and Origins & Endings: A Divination Book and Inkblot Card Deck.

I am white, queer, cisgender, non-monogamous, fat, chronically ill and sober in recovery for eighteen years. I am Jewish and Pagan and both of these spiritual practices are important to me and inform my work.
My family of origin is deeply impacted by addiction and mental illness and I have dedicated my life to learning how healthy attachment and personal wellbeing can be achieved in the face of a painful family history. I believe joy and connection is available for all of us given the right kinds of care and support.
I spend a lot of time outside swimming in natural bodies of water, making art, reading magical realism, and going on adventures with my beloveds. I live with my partner of seven years, Theo-Mae and pup, Little Bear.
“I have mentored scarlet for several years in the development of her spiritual practice. I have watched her take on rigorous healing to understand the beautiful wisdom and resource she carries within her. I have seen her move with humility, grace, laughter and diligence through the beautiful mess of being a human searching for the most authentic path. I trust her to hold clients because I have seen her integrate things fully. She does not stop at the conceptual. She is not satisfied with a mere intellectual understanding of what goes into change. She is not here to talk theory. She is deeply embodied, committed to wholeness and willing to surrender to the full, non-linear glory of transformative work. Scarlet is compassionate, joyful, and smart. Her gift for presence is a stunning combination of emotional intelligence, energetic capacity, and a detailed and flexible mind.” - Maeanna Welti, Spiritual Coach
